DesignGroup5 is established by six, young students studying Architecture & Design at Aalborg University, Denmark, in 2008.

DesignGroup5 started with ecochair's creation as a major project on the 5th semester.

The history about the name DesignGroup5 reflects the working method at Aalborg University. At the university almost all study is concieved in groups. The groups is formed at the semester start and it was obvious for the team to choose the name DesignGroup. The number 5 is a connection to the semester where the group worked together. Hence the name DesignGroup5.
